The railway standard EN 45545-2:2013 for materials used in railway applications, such as plywood or wood, specifies the requirements for the reaction to fire performance of materials for components used in passenger land transport vehicles running on rails (carriages, locomotives, trams). Thanks to effective fireproofing with the 100% non-toxic flame retardant Burnblock®, plywood and wood achieve fire resistance, resulting in increased passenger safety.

THE PLYWOOD IS TREATED BY INJECTING THE FLAME RETARDANT BURNBLOCK® USING THE DEEP VACUUM-PRESSURE METHOD. THE MATERIAL THEN UNDERGOES A DRYING PROCESS IN A NEW GENERATION DRYER, WHICH ELIMINATES ANY POSSIBLE DEFORMATION AND UNEVENNESS OF THE PLYWOOD SURFACE.

The plywood is dried to the moisture content required by the customer.

As an optional service, we also offer CNC machining and formatting of plywood after drying.

FR birch plywood complies with EN 45545-2.

The product described above has obtained the reaction to fire classification

Reaction to fire classification:

R1; HL1/HL2

Reaction to fire classification:

R7; HL1/HL2

Reaction to fire classification:

R10; HL1/HL2/HL3

BURNBLOCK® IS THE SUSTAINABLE CHOICE FOR FIRE PROTECTION OF PLYWOOD MATERIALS.

BURNBLOCK® IS ALSO CRADLE TO CRADLE CERTIFIEDTM AT THE GOLD LEVEL.

PART OF THE SUSTAINABILITY CERTIFICATION INCLUDES THE MATERIAL HEALTH STATUS.

Burnblock® is also EPD® (Environmental Product Declaration) certified. Burnblock has passed the VOC emission test according to EN16516 and AgBB, Italian CAM, Belgian VOC and French VOC. VOC emissions from Burnblock® are not detected after 28 days of testing.
